When it’s meant to last, it’s meant to be.

Founded in 2014 by Peter, Coolican & Company was Toronto’s first company of small batch furniture makers. Creating off of durability and simplicity, the company’s mission is to use high, beautiful quality and eco-sourced materials to create original furniture pieces.

Peter always loves a challenge. Whether it be to create custom, high-end or contemporary work he’d always utilize his passion to the fullest. His first piece was a barstool, which lead him to gaining recognition after posting his photos online. While noticing changes in the industry, all the elements were there to start his solo project.

Quality over quantity is something Peter asses to, ensuring that every item produced is made in a small and numbered batch. This is important to him because it ensures long lasting quality and usage to the consumer, finishing off with being meticulously hand-rubbed. All furniture is handcrafted in their Toronto based workshop, investing in their team to assure optimal delivery upon making the product. Inspired by simple aesthetics and principles, Coolican & Company delivers unique pieces created with clean lines and inspiration from Shaker, Nordic and Canadian crafts.

Their latest collaboration was with Calla Haynes, fashion designer and founder of fashion label CALLA. After Calla put her ready-to-wear collection to the side in 2015, Calla wanted to do something meaningful with her unused fabrics. She then partnered with artisans in Morocco, creating unique Berber carpets. Taking the idea of recycling luxury fabrics, both her and Peter valued the importance of sustainability and after months of design and prototypes, they created the Marrakesh Bench & Stool together.
