In this very first edition of the Fabrique 1840 award, hundreds of artisans from all over Canada competed creatively to earn themselves a spot among the 30 finalists as well as the opportunity to present to you, the public, their interpretation of the established theme: revival.
These practical creations by Coolican & Company were each designed and manufactured locally in small quantities. They become the distinctive witnesses of renewal within our decors. For the founders of this workshop, craftspeople, the weather, and the environment must exist in symbiosis in order to create beauty. This small vase is also shaped in harmony with their values: it was carved in wood residues from the furniture factory, and seeks to minimize the loss of materials. Its bubble shape-far from being anecdotal-is reminiscent of a bud ready to burst and revives the grace of dried flowers as if it were the first bloom. An simply inspiring sculptural piece that installs nature's regenerative energy into your interior.
