Upon discovering the art of screen-printing, the artist Annie Axtell found a means of expression that was both precise and flexible. On this hand-printed work, emotions pour out, overlapping and coming together in colours and gradients that evoke sentiment. To enhance the feeling of movement and freedom of expression, the edges of the paper called a deckle are left feathered, as though torn by hand.
