Yusuke Akai has always been fascinated by ceramic. He started creating at the age of 13 in his homeland Japan. Over time, he visited regions of Japan and China known for their mastery of pottery, while drawing inspiration from the American industrial design of the 1960s. Now based in Canada, he and his architect wife are dedicated to creating beautiful and functional ceramic pieces for the modern home, such as these mini bud vases with soft, sleek, rounded lines that harmoniously blend with any decor.
