Hoi Yi Lai, an emerging jeweller from Hong Kong now based in Toronto, sculpts and shapes each of her items by hand through the entire creative process, from sketching to production. Each of her Kotoba jewellery collections has its own unique story to tell. In the hope of strengthening the beauty and value within each of us, Hoi Yi Lai transforms raw matter into in wearable art, as a means for true self-expression. These hand-carved rings reveal subtle details that flow effortlessly, much like an artist's brush strokes. The Comfort collection is inspired by shapes that are pleasant to touch and look at; some are discreet, some bold, and some different, like each of us.
